I cry often and without reason. Triggers range from a commercial or in one instance a peach. It's almost like a hiccup or a tick. I cry for two or three seconds and then I am over it. It's annoying really, more than anything it just annoys me when I cry over some stupid reason. My doctor thinks (for other reasons) I may be type II Bipolar. Could that be the cause?

u aint depressed? sounds like it listen to ur doc and get help its ok and nothing to e embarssed about i have bipolar and it makes me very teary eyed sometimes
Reply:I am not a doctor or anything, but it seems to me that it may not be a biological problem but more a conditioning problem. Somehow you trained yourself to do it and now your subconscious is doing it whether you want to or not.





I would try to recondition yourself by saying the word "cancel" whenever you think you are about to cry. This is just like your brain is a computer and you have to retrain it not to trigger a response such as crying whenever the triggers appear such as your mentioned.





After you say "cancel" replace the thought with some like a smile instead; and you will smile more than cry.

Reply:I don't know what it is but you are not alone, up until now I thought that this problem was just something I dealt with. I just don't let any one see it. tough going through that as a guy. some days are better than others. try to get a focus on something that you can do every day and when this emotional episode happens turn to that focus, I take a deep breath recompose myself, and blame my eyes watering on allergy's. I went to the doctor a few years ago and got some meds it didn't relay work a whole lot. but it did some.
