If and how to add an apple tree branch on a peach tree and the term for that procedure?

I heard about this from a friend about mixing trees together. He was saying to take an apple tree branch and put it on a peach tree. I would like to know if that is possible and how to do it. Also, what is this called. Thanks.

If and how to add an apple tree branch on a peach tree and the term for that procedure?
Cut an apple twig at a 45degree angle, slice a piece of bark from top to bottom about 1-2 inches, not cutting thru the bottom, and tape the cut end of the apple twig to the bare end of the peach tree wrapping the tape around the bark of the trunk. This is called grafting.
Reply:definatly agree..best way to do that. Report It

Reply:This is not possible as apples and peaches belong to seperate species. Peaches are compatable with plums, and nectarines, and can all be grafted on each other. thedoc
Reply:this is called "grafting" there are many different ways to do this. and many different trees you can do this with. check out this site to start with these.
