Why is my peach tree dropping so many peaches?

The peaches that are dropping should be ripe ones. They feel ripe but they are green. Is this some new variety of peaches%26gt;

Or are they going to change colors soon?

'my3-' has the watering correct, but peaches as well as other fruit go through natural drops. The first to be shed are the improperly pollinated, next to go are those that touch branches and lastly the ones that touch each other. These are the ones you have on the ground now. You can leave these to ripen on there own, but they'll taste "store bought". This is the time for you to do the final culling. Remove any that are are still touching branches or each other. This will produce a larger crop of large blemish free fruit. One last thing, invest in some bird netting. RScott
Reply:It needs more water.

We discovered this through our personal experience. If you put the hose on a trickle under the tree for about 7 minutes each day it should be enough water.
