Do peach tree has to have a male/female tree to produce fruit or it doesn't need that?

I had a cherry treey and I was told that I should have a couple of them to have polination to get fruit.

Any suggesions?

Not all but in general most are self pollinating. So you only need one peach tree.

Yes the cherry needs two different kinds of sweet Cherry's to cross pollinate. (A sour Cherry will not pollinate a sweet.)

All sour Cherry's are like peaches and are good alone.
Reply:Actually, most sweet cherries and peaches are self-sterile. There are a couple varieties of each that will self-pollinate. Reliance peach will self pollinate, as will the Lapin sweet cherry.
Reply:If your neighbors have cherry trees close by, the bees can pollinate for you. Otherwise I would have two.
