That's ok. There's a lot of fat in sunflower seeds. A love bird does not require a high fat diet like some birds do. Your bird will not have bad health because of no sunflower seeds.

You might try to find out what foods it received before you got it. It might have been fed pellets. I never had any luck trying to introduce pellets to our many birds through the years. If it was reared on pellets, it might not know that seeds are food.
Reply:Then feed it what it likes to eat. Safflower seeds, sesame sticks, millet. or just a good quality bird food mixture.
Reply:This isn't neccesarily a bad thing as sunflower seeds are very fatty for your bird. Some birds have different preferences, that's all. If you're looking for a treat to train your bird with, you can make small pieces from peanuts or other treats it may like.
