If you slice/pull open a peach and the stone inside happens to split in two, you'll find a little flat almond-shaped nut inside... which also happens to have a strong almond after-taste. But is it safe to eat?
Is the nut inside the stone of a peach safe to eat?
Not sure about peach seeds, but apricot seeds contain Laetril or vitamin (allegedly) b17.
Some thought it could cure cancer back in the 1970s. It turned out to be a hoax, but many of the test patients reported symptoms similar to cyanide poisening.
Again, not sure if this is applicable to peach seeds.
UPDATE: Better stay away...
